What is made

Footwear: complete shoes and shoe uppers in serial production for international brands. Clothing: women's blouses, trousers, skirts, jackets and dresses; knitwear such as T-shirts, polo shirts and children's and baby wear; workwear and uniforms. Textiles: shoelaces, webbing, elastic, jacquard and satin ribbons, cords, nets and outdoor shade products.

How the work is organised

Most producers work on a CMT or full-package basis for brands in Germany, Italy, Austria and Slovenia, the markets most often listed in the exporters register of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lead times are short because of proximity to the EU, and the factories are used to small and medium series.

What to check with a supplier

  • Capacity: pairs or pieces per day, number of lines and seasonality.
  • Compliance: social audits (amfori BSCI, SMETA), REACH-compliant materials.
  • Samples: salesman samples and size sets before bulk production.
