Solid wood furniture manufacturers in Republika Srpska

The main product groups are solid beech and oak furniture: beds, bedside tables, chests of drawers, dining tables and chairs, and benches. Upholstered furniture is the second group: sofas, corner sets, armchairs and upholstered chairs, often with metal frames. Panel furniture in chipboard and MDF, such as kitchens, wardrobes and office furniture, is mostly made to measure for the domestic and regional market.

Several factories also supply semi-finished goods to other furniture makers in Europe: planed beech components, glued solid wood panels and chair parts.

Furniture production is spread across the region: around Prijedor and Gradiška in the north-west, Teslić, Prnjavor and Petrovo in the centre and north, and Šekovići, Vlasenica and Bratunac in the east, close to the beech forests along the Drina. Banja Luka has the largest concentration of companies.

In the exporters register of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, furniture makers from Republika Srpska most often list Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Slovenia and Austria as export markets, followed by the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark and France. Many factories work to the design and specification of a foreign brand or retailer.
